To be honest, yes, this may be a more expensive option if you are not from the US, however, I think it's worth every penny. I am from the UK, and I had been looking for an alternative phone mount solution where you don't stick something down on your dash. After a lot of searching, I found this, and I couldn't be happier.
I'm not an expert in DIY on my Miata, but it was such an easy install that anyone could do it.

Tried vent mounts in both my Miata's and it worked ok. This is way nicer and not blocking the vents. Long wait for shipping but worth it.
