My 2025 Audi Q3 has a wireless charging pocket in the center console, but wireless charging generates heat, and that little pocket has no ventilation causing my phone to overheat on long trips. The pocket also hides most of the phone, which caused me to regularly forget it when getting out of the car.
The new bracket solves both problems. It looks great, doesn't overheat my phone while charging, and the magnetic surface maintains a solid grip with the phone in view.
Out of the box, two small modifications made the fit and finish better in my Q3:
First, I added a flat washer between the bracket and the bolt mounting hole to raise the mount up a very tiny amount. In the stock configuration, the bracket rests directly on the trim, and I was worried it might mar the finish over time.
Second, the bracket doesn't allow the top trim piece to sit flush the way it would without the bracket installed. I purchased another top trim piece off eBay and used an X-Acto knife and Dremel tool to carve out a small section of the plastic to accommodate the bracket. After this modification, the trim sat snugly again, just as it had before installing the bracket.
Overall: excellent charging performance and a big upgrade over the stock pocket; just budget an extra hour and a spare trim piece if you want a factory-flush look.
