Installs and looks exactly the way it’s done in the vehicle model specific video. Perfect if you’re having a hard time finding a reasonable mount that doesn’t take up space on top of the dash or on the window blocking visibility.
Unfortunately, this phone mounting bracket does not fit the 2012 Civic dash out of the box—at least not without significant tinkering. This wasn't a total surprise, as the product specifically states it is for 2013–2015 models. Even though the 2012 is also a 9th-generation Civic, I took a gamble hoping to make it work. I had already researched the dash part numbers and knew the 2012 used a different number, though I wasn't sure what design changes Honda actually made.
Ultimately, the bracket's angles and depth are off for the 2012 layout. However, I managed to get it installed by slightly trimming the surrounding plastic, modifying/bending the bracket, and adding a screw to the back. Time will tell how well this setup holds up, but it is solidly in place for now.
The main downside to my experience was Course Motorsports' customer service, which was virtually non-existent upfront. I sent two inquiries regarding 2012 compatibility before buying and sadly never received a response. From looking through their catalog, they don't seem to support vehicles older than 2013 across several models. I was completely open to working with them to test or figure out a 2012 solution if they had responded to my messages.
Fitment & Mod Notes for 2012 Owners:
After testing all three screw locations behind the radio and A/C control panel on the 2012 dash, I noticed something interesting: I think if Course Motorsports offered a Right-Hand Drive (RHD) version of the 13–15 bracket, it would likely fit a LHD 2012 perfectly (aside from the slight clearancing I did on the vent piece to fit around the radio bezel). Because of how the bracket seats flush into the bezel groove, mirroring the tab angle—so it points up toward the vent screw instead of down—would possibly align it nicely.

Despite the lack of inquiry responses, actual order fulfillment was fantastic. Once the order was placed, it arrived quickly, was packaged well, and the hardware itself is of excellent quality. I would definitely buy from Course Motorsports again for another vehicle they officially support.

Thank you for the review! It looks like you did good work here. We did reply to your inquires on on August 3rd and August 6th with the following: 'Unfortunately, the product we offer will not work on the pre-facelift 9th gen. The vent you have pictured is not in the same location in the facelift cars. The bracket we have does not fit on either of the screws you have shown due the the extremely tight panel gap and the lack of soft touch material beside the radio, like the facelift has.'
