What's the difference between Magnetic, MagSafe, and Cradle heads?

Magnetic heads hold your phone with a built-in magnet — either Standard Magnetic (grip only, no charging) or MagSafe Compatible / MagSafe Charging (aligns to the magnetic ring on iPhone 12+, or to earlier phones using our adhesive steel ring). Cradle heads use a mechanical squeeze-release grip that fits any phone, and are available in powered (wireless charging) and non-powered versions.

How should I power the wireless charging head?

We recommend the included 12V cigarette-lighter adapter. Some factory USB ports can sag under peak draw and cause the charger to cycle on and off, so wiring to the 12V socket cigarette-lighter adapter is the most reliable solution.

Will the charger work through my phone case?

Most non-metallic cases up to roughly 4mm thickness work fine. Rugged cases such as OtterBox Defender-class may block charging or weaken the magnetic grip. Cases with a metal plate behind the phone block wireless charging entirely.

Does this work with Samsung, Google Pixel, and other Android phones?

Yes. Phones that support Qi wireless charging work with our charging heads. For magnetic attach on phones without a built-in MagSafe ring, we include an adhesive steel ring that sticks to the back of the phone or case. A few Pixel models have left-side volume buttons that can contact the cradle arms — if you have one, check clearance or contact support.

What do the LED lights on the charger mean?

A steady LED means charging is active and working normally. A flashing LED usually indicates a power issue — the phone may be off-center from the coil, the adapter may not be seated firmly, or a case or object is blocking the connection. Slide the phone so its coil aligns with the charger's coil and confirm the 12V adapter is firmly in the socket.

How do I get my phone out of the powered cradle when the vehicle is off?

The powered cradle's arms open when energized. If the vehicle is off, press and hold the manual release button on the side of the cradle to mechanically release the arms. The non-powered mechanical cradle is fully manual and doesn't need power at any time.

How long is the warranty?

All Course Motorsports phone mounts carry a 180-day warranty covering manufacturing defects. After the warranty, replacement parts are available through support.

Perfect Mount

I bought this mount for my 96 Cobra so I could have a place to put my iPhone. If you've ever been in a mustang from the mid to late 90s, you know there is NO WHERE to put a phone mount. The Course mount integrates seamlessly with the radio bezel without having to make any permanent alterations to the car, another important consideration for me. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking.

Simple yet solid!

Love this mount. It's simple yet solid. Installation was easy. Very minimalistic which I love. Magsafe mount attachment is perfect and holds my phone (Quad Lock/Magsafe case) securely. Only change I'd like to see is the option to mount it on the other side of the HVAC control panel.

Perfect fit

Couldn’t be happier. There’s literally no where to stash my phone in the 2004 Mustang, not even the cup holder is big enough. Didn’t want to stick (adhesive) anything on the dash, and was never fan of the suction cups on the windshield. Absolutely prefect solution with this setup!

Perfect solution for my Mustang

This mount is an ideal solution for my 2001 Mustang GT. Options for mounting other products were limited but this design is perfect. Clean, minimal and functional. Installation was a breeze ( the car specific video instructions were right on and a huge help).
