Non-Powered Mechanical Cradle Secure Grip — No Charging
A mechanical cradle that holds your phone in place with a simple squeeze-release mechanism — no power required. Ideal if you prefer wired charging, need cable access for CarPlay / Android Auto, or use a thick case that magnetic heads can't grip. Tapered arms create a wedge grip that holds devices steady over rough terrain, and a one-touch release button makes removal quick. Universal fit — works with any phone, with or without a case.
MagSafe-Compatible Wireless Charging Qi Standard — 7.5W
Delivers reliable Qi wireless charging at up to 7.5W — the original MagSafe-compatible wireless standard. Magnetic attachment works with iPhone 12 and newer, or earlier phones using the included adhesive steel ring. Charges through most non-metallic cases. LED indicators and foreign-object detection built in. Choose this when you want proven, cost-effective wireless charging and don't need Qi2's faster speeds.
Next-Gen Qi2 Wireless Charging Qi2 Standard — 15W
Qi2 is the newer wireless charging standard — faster charging and improved thermal performance over legacy Qi. MagSafe-compatible magnets snap your phone into perfect alignment every time, no adjustments needed. Compared to Qi1, Qi2 delivers higher efficiency, less power loss, and a premium metal housing with passive cooling. Choose this when you want the fastest wireless charging available for your vehicle.

MAGNETIC CHARGING HEAD (Wireless Charging)
MagSafe-compatible wireless charging head for the Course Motorsports mount system.

*Charges through most non-metallic cases up to ~4mm thick. Heavier cases (e.g. OtterBox Defender-class) may block charging.

*LED charging indicator and foreign-object detection built in. Covered by our 180-day warranty.

FAQ
Product Q&A
What's the difference between Magnetic, MagSafe, and Cradle heads?
Magnetic heads hold your phone with a built-in magnet — either Standard Magnetic (grip only, no charging) or MagSafe Compatible / MagSafe Charging (aligns to the magnetic ring on iPhone 12+, or to earlier phones using our adhesive steel ring). Cradle heads use a mechanical squeeze-release grip that fits any phone, and are available in powered (wireless charging) and non-powered versions.
How should I power the wireless charging head?
We recommend the included 12V cigarette-lighter adapter. Some factory USB ports can sag under peak draw and cause the charger to cycle on and off, so wiring to the 12V socket cigarette-lighter adapter is the most reliable solution.
Will the charger work through my phone case?
Most non-metallic cases up to roughly 4mm thickness work fine. Rugged cases such as OtterBox Defender-class may block charging or weaken the magnetic grip. Cases with a metal plate behind the phone block wireless charging entirely.
Does this work with Samsung, Google Pixel, and other Android phones?
Yes. Phones that support Qi wireless charging work with our charging heads. For magnetic attach on phones without a built-in MagSafe ring, we include an adhesive steel ring that sticks to the back of the phone or case. A few Pixel models have left-side volume buttons that can contact the cradle arms — if you have one, check clearance or contact support.
What do the LED lights on the charger mean?
A steady LED means charging is active and working normally. A flashing LED usually indicates a power issue — the phone may be off-center from the coil, the adapter may not be seated firmly, or a case or object is blocking the connection. Slide the phone so its coil aligns with the charger's coil and confirm the 12V adapter is firmly in the socket.
How do I get my phone out of the powered cradle when the vehicle is off?
The powered cradle's arms open when energized. If the vehicle is off, press and hold the manual release button on the side of the cradle to mechanically release the arms. The non-powered mechanical cradle is fully manual and doesn't need power at any time.
How long is the warranty?
All Course Motorsports phone mounts carry a 180-day warranty covering manufacturing defects. After the warranty, replacement parts are available through support.
Direct fit is not accurate. Bought the mount for a 2014 Mini Cooper Countryman S (R60). The build quality is great but the base that mounts behind the radio trim is to long and cannot sit flat. The dashboard trim keeps it from sitting flush. Needs to be about half of an inch shorter and the screw hole cut out moved. Very disappointed for the price since it is not a direct fit.
Hi Daniel, thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the fitment issues and appreciate your detailed input. Our product title does note that this is not for vehicles equipped with Navigation. If yours has that feature this product will not fit.
